Hai Luu Stork Garden is located in Dua Le village, Hai Luu commune, Song Lo district, Vinh Phuc province, about 17km northeast of the district capital (Xuan Hoa town). As a remnant of the former Hai Luu forest, protected and managed by a family in the village, birds and storks have come to nest since 1958.

The total area of the stork garden is 15 hectares, of which the area for birds and storks to nest is 7 hectares. The height of the ground surface of the stork garden above sea level is 70m. The topography of the bird sanctuary is hilly, gradually descending to the semi-mountainous area next to the Lo River. The temperature in the area varies with the seasons, the annual average is 28 degrees Celsius, the average annual rainfall is 1650mm.

The Hai Luu Stork Garden is an important and attractive flora and fauna resource of Song Lo district as well as Vinh Phuc province. Some species of birds and storks nesting here are dominant in genetic diversity, including species such as fire storks, dwarf fire storks, storks, fly storks, green storks...

The breeding season of birds depends on how early or late the rainy season comes, the quality of the trees that nest and the source of food. The start and end of the breeding season for each season occurs at different times. The plants in the stork garden today are the trees of the forest ecosystem left over as a result of the clearing of land for agriculture such as: bamboo, fillings, ovals, truss, figs, longans, nesting, in which bamboo is the most popular tree because this species often grows in bushes, has flexible stems to facilitate nesting.

The Hai Luu stork garden tourist area has scientific significance and value in a low-lying forest ecosystem surrounded by rivers with the function of circulating energy and nutrients of the environment. Stork garden is also a place to attract tourists, a place to educate people to love nature and the country.
